A notable SmackDown competitor has officially signed a lengthy extension to stay with WWE.
Chelsea Green, who has been making frequent appearances on WWE programming, recently agreed to new terms with the company. This development was first reported by Fightful Select on Tuesday, bringing clarity to the speculation about her contract status.
The reports shared that Green’s new WWE deal is a solid five-year extension. This officially ties her to the company through 2030 and confirms WWE’s ongoing commitment to featuring her on its main programming. The new contract was reportedly worked out in January 2025. WWE approached Green well before her previous contract was set to expire, showing the company’s interest in keeping her around for the long term. Green originally signed a three-year deal in late 2022 that was scheduled to end toward the end of 2025.
Chelsea Green’s Current Status on WWE Programming
In recent months, Green has been a consistent presence on both Friday Night SmackDown and NXT. Her appearances underscore her ongoing relevance within the women’s division and give fans regular chances to see her compete. Green made history in December 2024 by defeating Michin to become the inaugural Women’s United States Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
She successfully defended the Championship multiple times during her reign. Her championship run ended on April 25, when she lost to Zelina Vega, ending her reign at 132 days. Green attempted to regain the Women’s United States Championship from Vega on May 24 at Saturday Night’s Main Event but was unsuccessful.
Her most recent televised in-ring appearance took place on the October 3 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. In that match, Green teamed with fellow wrestler Alba Fyre to face off against Zaria and current WWE Women’s Speed Champion Sol Ruca. The team of Sol Ruca and Zaria came away with the victory in the tag team contest.
Green is currently aligned with Alba Fyre and Piper Niven on SmackDown as part of The Green Regime. Niven recently suffered an injury that is expected to keep her out of action for the foreseeable future. Green and Fyre challenged Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the September 19 edition of SmackDown, but were unsuccessful.
