Chris Jericho might be checking to see how likely a return to WWE is.
Jericho’s last match took place at AEW Dynasty on April 6. A few days later on Dynamite, Jericho walked out on his Learning Tree stable. This effectively wrote him off of TV, as he has not been back since then. Jericho is reportedly under contract with AEW through December 2025.
However, that has not stopped speculation that he could be considering a return to WWE. Jericho previously admitted he was open to it under the right circumstances. Many in both promotions believe it will happen when Jericho is free to do so.
PWInsider.com recently posted a new Q&A column where Mike Johnson said that Jericho can’t make any moves until he’s free of his existing AEW contract. However, Johnson said that there’s at least been talk about him going back to WWE. In addition, it was noted that there’s a belief that Jericho “has made overtures to see whether WWE has interest in him” once his current deal ends.
Johnson also pointed out that no one knows for sure what Jericho will do. He pointed out that he could always sign a new deal with AEW and stick around. Johnson also noted that he can’t even confirm whether or not Chris Jericho has sent out feelers about a WWE return, but “there are many who think it is” true.
Chris Jericho has been with All Elite Wrestling since 2019. He was one of the first major signings to the company. Prior to that, Jericho worked for WWE across multiple stints between 1999 and 2018. Jericho left the company on a few occasions, but did not sign anywhere else during the respective hiatuses. He also made a pre-recorded cameo appearance during the June 27, 2022 episode of Raw to congratulate John Cena on his legendary career.
