Following a highly successful Sussex Senior 4*, which was over-subscribed in all categories and hit its financial targets, we are sharing insights from the event to help other Tournament Organisers to replicate its success.
The event was held at the K2 venue in Crawley in September, with 30 tables on the go and a prize fund of £1,200. It was the biggest Senior 4* held to date, since the format was added to the competition calendar last season.
It was organised by Sussex County TTA, who wished to offer a quality competition to their local players while supporting the wider table tennis community, creating more qualified officials and gaining experience so they can organise further competitions in the future.
Our case study, which can be downloaded below, shares key information about how the organisers went about ensuring a successful event, plus how Table Tennis England can help other prospective organisers to follow their blueprint – including direct financial support from Table Tennis England.
The case study has also been added to the ‘one stop shop†information available to Local Organising Groups in our Tournaments Explained document – and further insight, including entry/date statistics and trends, is available on request.
Other 4* events last season were held in Nottingham and Cleveland, with more to be announced shortly with the upcoming release of the 2026-27 calendar – if any club, league or county is interested in hosting an event in your area, please contact us for further info.
