Love, a native of Quesnel, B.C., joined the Capitals ahead of the 2023-24 season as a primarily defensive assistant.
He previously spent time with the Calgary Flames, working as the head coach of the team’s American Hockey League affiliate from 2021 to 2023.
The 41-year-old began his coaching career in the major juniors, working multiple roles with the Everett Silvertips from 2011 to 2018, then joining the Saskatoon Blades as head coach from 2018 to 2021.
