Canada has set its training-camp roster for the upcoming for the 2026 world junior hockey championship with a few top-end talents making the cut.
The training-camp roster, unveiled Monday, features 15 forwards, nine defencemen and three goaltenders. Canada will need to finalize its roster before the tournament starts Dec. 26 in Minnesota.
Among the players selected are projected top picks for the 2026 NHL Draft in forward Gavin McKenna and defenceman Keaton Verhoeff.
McKenna and forwards Jett Luchanko, Porter Martone and Cole Beaudoin were on the team last year along with goaltenders Carter George and Jack Ivankovic.
The team also included three players who skated in the NHL this season in Calgary Flames defenceman Zayne Parekh, San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa, and Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Harrison Brunicke.

Canada will host Sweden in a pair of pre-tournament games on Dec. 17 and 20 in Kitchener and London, Ont., respectively.
The tournament will take place Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
The Canadians will be looking for a better showing in the tournament after losing in the quarterfinal in back-to-back years.
