Rhea Ripley was mercilessly mobbed by fans in Paris ahead of the Clash in Paris event, which many people felt was out of line. That’s why it’s not a surprise that Ripley’s husband Buddy Matthews went off on such people in a scathing message.
Buddy Matthews took to Twitter and reacted to Rhea Ripley getting mobbed by fans in Paris just as she was about to enter her Uber. Buddy Matthews blasted the fans who mobbed Rhea Ripley, calling it absolutely disgusting to invade someone’s personal space. He demanded that people wake up and start respecting personal boundaries.
“Absolutely disgusting to raid someone’s personal space like this! Wake the f*** up & respect peoples boundaries!”
Rhea Ripley issued a warning after the bad experience with fans. She said she was surrounded while trying to get into an Uber, pushed against the car door, and completely crowded. She reminded everyone that wrestlers are people too and asked for respect and basic manners, making it clear that no means no.
“Remember, we are people. Do not swarm me or anyone like a pack of rabid zombies… No one should ever be pushed up against a uber drivers door and completely mobbed like I just experienced. Use common courtesy and humanity. No means no. Wtf.”
Rhea Ripley’s experience in Paris shows how quickly fan excitement can turn unsafe. While passion is a big part of wrestling, safety and respect must always come first. Both Ripley and Buddy Matthews have made it clear that boundaries are important and need to be respected and we hope people listen.
Do you think WWE should take stronger measures to protect its Superstars from being mobbed by fans? Sound off in the comments.
