Former England physical disability squad head coach Ben Silver has been given a suspended £500 fine after admitting two charges of improper conduct.
Silver accepted two charges, adjudicated by the independent Cricket Discipline Panel, relating to his time as an elite performance coach with Yorkshire between August and October 2024.
The first related to an inappropriate sexual advance to a female colleague while the second was in reference to an “offensive and improper ‘game’ relating to female colleague’s appearances”.
In addition to the fine, which is suspended for 12 months, Silver will have to complete a training programme which addresses professional boundaries in the workplace.
“I would like to thank Yorkshire CCC for their co-operation in this matter,” the Cricket Regulator managing director Chris Haward said in a statement., external
“Women working within cricket have the right to attend their place of work without the concern that they will be subjected to inappropriate and improper sexualised behaviours.
“The Cricket Regulator will not hesitate in acting against such behaviour in order to stamp this out and ensure cricket remains an inclusive environment for all.”
Silver was appointed head coach of the England physical disability squad in 2022 and held the role until May 2024 when Chris Highton took over., external
