    After being all out for 334 in the first innings, England started their second innings on Day 2 of the 2nd Ashes Australia vs England. Joe Root played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 135, while Jofra Archer added quick runs before being caught by Labuschagne. Zak Crawley gave steady support at the start. For Australia, Mitchell Starc was the best bowler, taking six wickets and breaking key partnerships.

    Australia started their second innings 204 runs behind. Travis Head and Cameron Weatherald opened, with Weatherald hitting boundaries early. Head and Weatherald built a strong opening partnership, with Head reaching a fifty and hitting a six over the boundary. Head was eventually dismissed by Stokes, giving England a breakthrough.     In the afternoon, Steve Smith and Cameron Green batted carefully to reduce the deficit. Green was hit on the thumb but kept batting. Smith reached his fifty, and both kept the partnership steady. Later, Brydon Carse took two quick wickets, removing Green and Smith. Josh Inglis was also out to Stokes, but Alex Carey and Michael Neser remained not out at stumps. Australia finished Day 2 at 378/6, leading by 44 runs, with Carey on 46* and Neser on 15*.
