    According to reports, the champions of the 2025 Asia Cup are expected to earn USD 300,000 (around Rs 2.6 crore) (Image credit: Agencies) NEW DELHI: The Asia Cup 2025 is set to kick off on September 9, with Afghanistan taking on Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi. India will begin their campaign a day later, on September 10, facing hosts United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The tournament will run until September 28 and will be played in the T20 format, serving as crucial preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

    Asia Cup 2025 Prize Money

    According to reports, the champions of the 2025 Asia Cup are expected to earn USD 300,000 (around Rs 2.6 crore), while the runners-up may receive USD 150,000. An official confirmation from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is still awaited, but the proposed amounts indicate an increase compared to the previous edition.

    India’s Asia Cup 2025 Schedule

    Defending champions India, who have won the tournament a record eight times, will be led by Suryakumar Yadav in the absence of stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. After opening against UAE on September 10, India will face arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai, a marquee clash expected to attract global attention. India will conclude their group-stage fixtures against Oman on September 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

    While the 2025 Asia Cup prize money is modest compared to other tournaments, here’s a quick comparison:IPL 2025: Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed their first title, earning Rs 20 crore, with runners-up Punjab Kings taking home Rs 12 crore.ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024:India, the champions, earned USD 2.45 million, while the runners-up received USD 1.28 million.ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025: The winner pocketed USD 2.24 million, and the runners-up USD 1.12 million.
