Andrade is wasting no time getting back in the ring after his quiet WWE exit. Just days after confirming he’s no longer with the company, the former WWE Superstar has been announced for his first post-WWE appearance—and it’s happening in Mexico.
Andrade will return to action for The Crash Lucha Libre on October 3rd at the Municipal Auditorium Fausto Gutierrez Moreno in Tijuana. This will be his first match since appearing at WWE SummerSlam, where he teamed with Rey Fenix in a six-pack TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
His return to The Crash marks a homecoming of sorts, as Andrade originally built his reputation through the Mexican wrestling circuit before breaking out in NXT and eventually WWE’s main roster.
The announcement comes shortly after reports surfaced that Andrade had been quietly removed from WWE programming. According to Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Andrade was escorted out of a WWE taping last month due to a backstage issue linked to an unacknowledged suspension. WWE has not made any official statement about his release, nor have they commented on the alleged incident.
Now, Andrade’s focus is shifting back to his roots—and fans in Mexico will be the first to see what he does next.
Are you excited to see Andrade back in action outside of WWE? What kind of run do you think he’ll have on the independent scene? Let us know in the comments and tell us what you want to see next for El Idolo.
