Adam Copeland is on the final run of his career and it will eventually come to an end and now Copeland has revealed how he wants to retire from wrestling.
While speaking to Inside the Ropes, Adam Copeland explained what he wants his final match to look like and how he hopes to retire from wrestling. He said that his main goal is to make sure his last opponent benefits from the moment.
Copeland wants his retirement to elevate someone else, giving them a big boost that sticks with them for the rest of their career. He pointed out that not everyone can receive that kind of spotlight, so when it happens, it has to be done the right way.
“Um, you know, more than anything, I want to make sure that whoever it is at the very end, we can put the biggest exclamation point on them possible so they can take that going forward, whoever that is. And I guess just making sure that it sticks. So, you canâ€t do it for everybody. You have to make sure that when you do it, itâ€s done right so it can stick, and now that person going forward can have that thing.â€
The Rated R Superstar doesnâ€t know who the opponent will be or what the exact situation might look like, but he wants the focus to be on creating a moment that helps the next person shine. For him, it comes down to figuring out who deserves that opportunity and making sure the match sets them up for future success.
“So yeah, I donâ€t know what the scenario is, and honestly at the end of the day itâ€s, okay, what do you need? Who do we want to light up? How do you want to get there? Do this, and again, point me in that direction.â€
Adam Copeland already made it clear he wants to retire within the next two years, so fans might just see him hang up his boots in the next couple of years. So it remains to be seen who will end up becoming Copelandâ€s final opponent when all is said and done.
If Adam Copeland wants his last match to elevate the next generation, who do you think deserves to be his final opponent? Sound off in the comments.
