The best years of Aaron Rodgers’ career were spent with the Green Bay Packers, and he plans to end his career with the team that drafted him.

Ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ matchup with the Packers on Sunday, Rodgers reflected on his time in Green Bay and hinted at the idea of returning.

“Feel so good about my time there because damn near everything great in my life is because of my football career, and my football career starts, and will end one day, with Green Bay,” Rodgers told reporters on Thursday. “So got a lot of love for all those memories.”

The Packers drafted Rodgers in 2005, and he went on to win four MVPs, a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP. His time in Green Bay ended in 2023 when he was traded to the New York Jets.

It seems unlikely that Rodgers will spend an entire season with the Packers, but he could sign a ceremonial one-day contract to bookend his career in Green Bay, as other players have done in the past.

For now, he’ll focus on the season ahead.

The Steelers are off to a solid 4-2 start, though they dropped last week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pittsburgh will look to get back on track against Green Bay, in a game Rodgers assured fans isn’t a revenge game.

“I don’t have any animosity toward the organization,” Rodgers told reporters. “Obviously, I wish that things had been better in our last year there, but I have a great relationship with a lot of people still in that organization, and this is not a revenge game for me. I’m just excited to see some of those guys and be on ‘Sunday Night Football’ again.”
