AJ Styles is an American professional wrestler. He was born in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune on 2 June 1977. Styles began his professional wrestling career on the independent circuit. He made his debut in the TNA in 2002 and quickly became one of the biggest stars of the company. In 2013, due to creative differences, Styles left TNA, resulting in a significant loss of viewership for the company. In 2014, he went international and joined New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he became the leader of the biggest heel faction of the company, The Bullet Club.

In 2016, Styles made his official debut in the WWE at the 2016 Royal Rumble match. In the same year, Styles won his first-ever WWE Championship at Backlash 2016. Styles also holds one of the records for the longest World Championship reigns in the title’s modern history. He held the Championship for more than 370 days.

As of now, in November 2025, Styles currently holds the WWE World Tag Team Championship with his tag team partner, Dragon Lee. They won these Tag Team Championships by defeating the Judgement Day members, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh. During the 2025 Crown Jewel pre-show, Styles announces that the upcoming year will be his final year as a professional wrestler, and he will officially retire in 2026.

List of AJ Styles WWE World Championships

AJ Styles has won the WWE World Championship two times in his legendary career. He won his first-ever WWE Championship in 2016. He faced Dean Ambrose in a one-on-one match, where, during that match, he delivered a low blow followed by a Styles Clash to win his first World Championship in the WWE. His first championship reign came to an end when John Cena defeated Styles to win his 16th World Championship at the 2017 Royal Rumble.

Apart from the WWE World Championships, Styles has also won World titles in different companies, including winning the TNA  World Championship five times and winning the New Japan Pro-Wrestling World Championship two times.
