The Wellsboro Junior High Volleyball team improved to 2-0 after defeating Cowanesque Valley 2-1 on Wednesday.
Wellsboro won the first set 25-14, but were defeated 25-14 by the young Lady Indians in the 2nd set. Wellsboro then controlled the third set and won 15-8.
Reese Eckart led Wellsboro with 6 points and 6 aces while Alexis Dunning, Nora Mickey, and Kyerra Heck all scored 5 points. Dunning added 4 aces, Mickey had 3 aces and a kill, and Heck added 2 aces and a dig.
Rachel Weaver made 2 assists and Lila Morey had a kill.
Cowanesque Valley won the B team game, winning 25-22 and 25-14.
The young Lady Hornets are back in action Saturday morning at Williamson.
