IND Vs AUS:The Indian Cricket Team defeated Australia in the most recent T20 match between the two teams. A solid batting effort by the Men in Blue led to a comfortable five-wicket victory for them.

The third of the five Australia vs India T20I matches was played today at the Ninja Stadium (Bellerive Oval) in Hobart, Australia. It was the visitors†captain, Suryakumar Yadav, who won the toss today and decided to bowl first. India made a few changes in the lineup today. Arshdeep Singh was in for Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar was in for Kuldeep Yadav, and Jitesh Sharma was in for Sanju Samson.

The incoming Arshdeep Singh gave India an excellent start, dismissing the dangerous Travis Head in the first over of the match. He then took another wicket in the third over, this time getting wicketkeeper Josh Inglis out.

In fact, the first four overs of the powerplay went well for the visitors. It was in the fifth over that Tim David unleashed his attacking shots and took on the bowling attack, making 11 runs in that over. Over the next few overs, David dominated the Indian bowling as the spinners came into play, hitting at least two boundaries per over with ease. In the eighth over, the all-rounder reached his half-century off just 23 deliveries.

The ninth over was a very happening one. First, Varun Chakrravarthy dismissed captain Mitchell Marsh, who had been playing the supporting role alongside Tim David, and then bowled Mitchell Owen on the very next ball, 73/4.

However, David kept the pressure on the bowlers, keeping the run rate over around nine before, at the end of the 13th, he got out while trying to hit a Shivam Dube ball out of the park, dismissed for 74 off 38.

But the baton that Tim David ran with for all this time was passed on to Marcus Stoinis, who kept hitting with a similar pace and kept the Australian Cricket Team on a path to scoring over 180 runs.

Stoinis made 64 off 39 before getting out in the final over. He, with the support of Matt Short (26 off 15), took the Aussies to 186/6 at the end of their 20 overs. To win this match, India had to break the record of the highest T20I run chase in Hobart.

India got off to a decent start to their inning, with Abhishek Sharma carrying his fine touch from the previous game. The opening duo of Sharma and Shubman Gill made 30 runs in the first three overs, following which Sharma was deceived by a pace-on delivery by Nathan Ellis and was caught out.

The speed of runs was high throughout the powerplay, in the last over of which Gill was dismissed by Ellis, this time getting trapped in front of the wickets.

Captain Suryakumar Yadavâ€s wicket in the eighth over, after he got a decent start and made 24 off 11, was a sign of trouble for the Indian Cricket Team. At this point, the score was 76/3.

A quick partnership between Tilak Varma and Axar Patel took India past the 100-run mark within 10 overs. Then, Axar was dismissed in the 12th over after scoring 17 runs off 12 balls, bringing the team score to 111/4.

The incoming Washington Sundar took the role of enforcer from this point, making quick runs, while Tilak Varma, on the other hand, played the anchor. By the time Varma was dismissed for 29 off 26, the team score was 145/5 in the 15th over, and the victory was in sight.

Washington ended up making 49 runs off 23 deliveries, finishing just shy of a half-century. He, along with Jitesh Sharma (22 off 13), took India home in the 19th over as the Indian Cricket Team won the match by five wickets and nine balls to spare.

For his excellent spell of 3/25 in four overs, which left Australia limping in the powerplay, Arshdeep SIngh was named the Player of the Match.

With this result, this Australia vs India series stands at 1-1 after three matches. The next two matches will decide the fate of this series. The fourth match will be played on Thursday, November 6, at the People First Stadium (Carara Stadium) in Gold Coast.
