WWE Legend Could Not Move His Arm The Day After TNA Bound For Glory

WWE and TNA have moved forward with their working relationship in a major way this year. The recent historic showdown between The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz saw the legends take more than a few brutal bumps, and one veteran has just revealed how he suffered an injury.

D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray Dudley officially retired after losing to Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy at TNA’s 21st Bound For Glory PPV, held on October 12 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, MA. The co-main event of the evening ended just under 16 minutes, and saw Matt and Jeff retain the TNA World Tag Team Championship and the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship in a Tables Match to make Team 3D’s retirement official.

Brother Devon recently appeared on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast and revealed that he suffered a shoulder injury during the match at Bound For Glory, which was billed as One Final Table as it took place 25 years after Matt and Jeff defeated D-Von and Bubba Ray in the first-ever Tag Team Tables Match at the 2000 WWE Royal Rumble.

WWE Legend D-Von Dudley Injured In Trying To Protect Opponent At TNA Bound For Glory

Jeff Hardy previously revealed how he suffered a cut on the back of his head while protecting D-Von Dudley on a ladder bump at TNA Bound For Glory. Regarding D-Von’s shoulder injury, he recalled how the unfortunate incident occurred when he and the wrestler also known as Bully Ray delivered a 3D in the first minute of the brutal match, while trying to protect Matt Hardy.

D-Von noted that he was hurting so bad he couldn’t move his arm the next day.

“I actually jarred my shoulder coming down on the 3D in the first 30 seconds of the match. I jarred my shoulder trying to protect Matt instead of just falling flat on my back. I went to my side and came down on my elbow, which shot up into my shoulder so badly that the next day I couldnâ€t move my arm,” D-Von Dudley said.

The Dudleyz retired as one of the most-decorated tag teams in wrestling history, with 10 championship reigns in WWE, 3 in TNA, 2 in NJPW, and 8 in ECW, among other title wins in smaller promotions. The 2014 TNA Hall of Famers, who are the inaugural World Tag Team Champions, were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.
