It is with deep sadness to share that our friend and fellow Bradford table tennis player Bob Shutt passed away peacefully on 29 September at home in France after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob moved to France in 2019 and loved his life there. Bob was not only a skilled and passionate player but a great competitor (Bradford Closed singles winner 1973, 1974 and 1975, Yorkshire Closed singles winner 1974, six appearances for Yorkshire senior team) and teammate at Clayton Heights TTC and brought real warmth and spirit to the table tennis community. Â
For many of us Bob was more than just a team-mate, he was a true friend and a very popular and fun person. Many will know his wife Sally, who he married in 1983 and shared the same love for the sport. Our hearts go out to her and their family during this incredibly painful time.Â
The cremation and service was held on Monday 6 October in France, with a memorial service to celebrate his life taking place on Friday 17 October back in Yorkshire, at Bradford Golf Club, Guiseley, at 1pm. All those wishing to pay their respects are welcome.
