A promising former WWE star finds himself employed with TNA Wrestling, but not for long.
Earlier this year, ahead of the February 7th SmackDown episode, Cedric Alexander uploaded a status on X(Twitter) and confirmed his departure from WWE.
After a few appearances on the indies, Alexander made his way into TNA Wrestling, where he soon signed a contract. However, according to new reports, his time with TNA might be nearing its end.
As per Fightful Select, Alexander has been working under a short-term deal that expires around the time of Bound for Glory, scheduled for October 12 at Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. Sources in TNA Wrestling noted that the promotion is hoping to re-sign Alexander on a new deal.
Multiple deals in TNA are actually up around Bound For Glory, which the promotion is working to get renewed. Fightful Select noted that short-term contracts are becoming far more common in TNA.
Alexander made his TNA debut on June 20 at an Impact TV taping, confronting Mustafa Ali. Since then, heâ€s competed in nine matches for the promotion and is scheduled to appear on Thursdayâ€s Bound for Glory event. Although he has not been announced for a match.
The former WWE tag-team champion is also expected to join AEW and reunite with The Hurt Syndicate.
Former WWE Star Claims They Were Misled By The Promotion Ahead Of Exit
Earlier this year, multiple WWE stars, including Blair Davenport, Karl Anderson, Cedric Alexander, Isla Dawn, Luke Gallows, and many more, were released from their contracts.
Soon after the release, Davenport appeared on Rule Breakers with Saraya, where she revealed how WWE had misled her with empty main-roster run promises.
“They released me. Iâ€d say I was surprised, but I wasnâ€t because I wasnâ€t really used. They had plans for me though. I was supposed to be on the Europe tour in March—I had the flights. I was supposed to be with Piper and Chelsea. I was supposed to be doing what Albaâ€s doing now, doing the Secret Hervice thing. Me and Piper were getting matching gear made. Weâ€d had conversations about what they wanted us to wear, how they wanted us to act, everything. So it was definitely a thing that creative were planning.â€
