Marshawn Lynch has transitioned well from his NFL career to a career in acting, and he’s set to act in another project soon.
Per Deadline’s Matt Grobar, the former running back will star in a half-hour private eye comedy from Max Searle, creator of “Dave,” owned by Amazon MGM Studios. According to Grobar, Lynch will play a retired athlete who becomes a Las Vegas private investigator after taking a different route than a typical former athlete.
The show will be produced by Luke Dillon and Luke Maxwell of 3 Arts Entertainment, Will Arnett and Marc Forman of Electric Avenue and Lynch, Bryon Sheng and Diaunte Thompson of Beastmode Productions.
It won’t be Lynch’s first time working with Amazon MGM Studios. He previously starred in Prime Video’s “The Pickup”with Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson and was in the 2023 film “Bottoms” from MGM.
Lynch is also set to star in an upcoming thriller, “He Bled Neon,” as well as the third season of “Euphoria” in 2026.
Lynch, a five-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, has managed to stay busy since retiring in 2019. As well as his work in the film and television world, he appeared as a sideline photographer during a preseason game between the Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas Raiders last month.
Some former athletes choose to get into the broadcasting world after retiring, while others go into coaching. Lynch, on the other hand, is carving his own unique path—and he seems to be thriving.
