New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge climbed up the club’s record books on Friday night.
Judge hit a solo home run in the first inning of New York’s clash with the Boston Red Sox, marking his 362nd career homer and passing Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio for No. 4 on the team’s all-time list.
Judge previously tied DiMaggio on Thursday.
The 33-year-old only trails Yankees icons Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Lou Gehrig on the franchise’s all-time home run leaderboard.
While Judge passed DiMaggio against the Red Sox on Friday, DiMaggio’s final home run of his career also occurred during a matchup with Boston in 1951.
Judge is in the midst of another impressive season at the plate, leading the majors with a .324 batting average and 1.120 OPS. The two-time American League MVP has also racked up 28 doubles, 47 home runs, 101 RBI and 104 walks in 137 games.
Judge has been particularly sharp as of late, owning a .347/.500/.796 slash line over his last 15 games.
He passed Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra on New York’s all-time home run list on Tuesday.
Judge’s stellar production is a key reason why the Yankees currently lead all MLB teams with 762 runs scored and 250 homers in 2025.
His latest solo blast was crucial for a New York squad that entered Friday’s action with a mere 0.5-game lead over the Red Sox in the AL East standings. The Yankees also sit three games back from the Toronto Blue Jays for the division lead.
