    Otávio breaks silence on Al Nassr exit as Cristiano Ronaldo ex-teammate makes emotional farewell (Image via Getty) Otávio left Al-Nassr in September 2025. The Portuguese midfielder signed with Al-Qadsiah on a two-year deal. At Al-Nassr, he played 72 games with Cristiano Ronaldo. They won 51 matches and linked up for six goals. In total, they shared the field 85 times in club and country. With Portugal, they played 13 games, winning 11 and losing two. After his move, Otávio wrote an emotional farewell. He said he will carry memories forever.

    Otávio joins Al Qadsiah after emotional farewell to Al Nassr fans

    On 9 September 2025, Otávio completed his switch to Al-Qadsiah. After the deal, he posted a long goodbye note on social media.Otávio wrote:“Time has come to say goodbye and it’s not easy to find the right words. I arrived in a different country, with its own unique culture, and I couldn’t have asked for better people to welcome me. Each of you received me as one of your own and made this experience truly special.”He added:“This is not the way I would have wished to leave Al-Nassr, but football is like that… full of decisions that are sometimes beyond our control. This summer they signed João Félix, Kingsley Coman, and defender Iñigo Martínez. These players will join Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mané in a new-look team.

    Otávio and Cristiano Ronaldo shared 85 games for Al Nassr and Portugal

    Otávio joined Al-Nassr from Porto in August 2023. The fee was €60 million, the biggest in the club’s history. He played 57 matches and scored 11 goals for the team.During his stay, Otávio lined up with Cristiano Ronaldo in 72 games. Together they won 51 times. But they never lifted a trophy as teammates in Riyadh. Ronaldo stayed the main scorer. Otávio gave balance in midfield.With Portugal, they featured in 13 matches together. The record was strong, 11 wins and only two defeats. For Otávio, being on the pitch with Ronaldo was a proud part of his career.This summer, Ronaldo signed a new deal to stay at Al-Nassr until 2027. Otávio, instead, is moving on.
