Rory McIlroy caddie makes 1 request, and a Bethpage mystery | Weekend 9
Nick Piastowski
“I didn’t make a bogey, which was nice,” McIlroy said after his round. “Overall, I’m really pleased with the day’s work. It at least keeps me within touching distance going into the weekend.”
McIlroy has won the Irish Open only once before, and it was at this very venue, the K Club, in 2016. A win this week would mark the 20th DP World Tour win of McIlroy’s career. Lagergren is seeking his second career DP World Tour win.
McIlroy will play in Saturday’s third-to-last pairing alongside Alfredo Garcia-Heredia at 7:50 a.m. ET, while Lagergren will play in the final pairing with Adrien Saddier at 8:10 a.m. ET.
