Shawn Michaels announced that he will be undergoing surgery shortly to repair a longtime injury the star has been dealing with.
During a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco’s Nightcap Podcast, Michaels revealed the news. According to the legend, Michaels will have to have his two knees “replaced.”
“Hell yes. I’ve had my back fused. I’ve had my shoulder replaced,” said Michaels (via Fightful). “I got two knees that I’m getting replaced in, probably in a month. I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. I knew that going in. I knew the price that was going to come along with it. When I worked on the road, we did 286 days. When I got a part-time schedule, it was 150 days. I enjoyed every minute.”
This actually isn’t the first time we’ve heard of these reports. Last month, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash revealed that Michaels had undergone back surgery for injuries suffered in his 1998 Casket Match at Royal Rumble. He also mentioned that Michaels would eventually need “both his knees replaced.”
It’s unclear what the recovery time is for Michaels, or when exactly he’ll be getting the surgery. From the sounds of it, though, it’s likely we won’t be seeing Michaels on television for a little bit as he recovers from his surgery.
