After years of fans hoping and waiting, AJ Lee finally made her return to WWE.
During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the show came to a close with Seth Rollins coming out. He was joined by his “hot, sexy, Irish wife” Becky Lynch, who came out to a loud chorus of boos.
Lynch absolutely laid into the crowd in return. She said the city’s team’s all stunk, and even mocked Chicago Bulls player Colby White, who was in attendance. Before she could say much else, though, CM Punk made his way out and the crowd went wild.
In the ring, Punk and Lynch got right into it. The crowd was chanting for Lee’s name, and Punk told Lynch that they should be allowed to do so. Punk then said he had a ton of different female stars he could call upon for help, to which Lynch challenged him to do so. Lynch then began continuously slapping Punk, and ramming her head into his chest, all the while asking what he was going to do about it.
Punk eventually responded by simply leaving the ring. Lynch began mocking Punk as he did, calling him a loser. Punk then said that he couldn’t put his hands on Lynch, but he knew who could. That’s when Lee’s music hit, and the crowd went absolutely wild as the former WWE star came out in her traditional skip.
Lee came down to the ring and confronted a clearly stunned and nervous Lynch. She promptly tackled Lynch in the ring, then hit her with a vicious slap to the head. As Lynch and Rollins escaped, Punk made his way back into the ring, and Lee jumped into his arms as the two embraced.
For Lee, it was her first time back in the world of WWE since 2015, when she left and went into a semi-retirement.
