Becky Lynch joins a new faction. Riho returns to AEW and targets the TBS Champion. Rachel Ley chats with WrestleZone, and more!
Becky Lynch Joins The Vision
At WWE Clash In Paris, Becky Lynch defeated Nikki Bella to retain her Women’s Intercontinental Championship. For Bella, it marked her first title match since 2018, when she challenged Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship. For Lynch, it marked her first of two appearances on the international premium live event.
In the closing moments of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship main event, CM Punk seemed on the verge of victory when he nailed Seth Rollins with a GTS, then hoisted him on his shoulders for a second. Before Punk could hit another one, though, a hooded figure delivered a low blow to “The Second City Saint,” allowing Rollins to follow with a stomp into a chair to retain his title.
Lynch’s interference came after Roman Reigns laid out Paul Heyman earlier in the show, which prompted Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to issue a counterattack on “The OTC.” As a result, WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce ejected Reed and Breakker from the venue. Heyman also remained out of commission. Following Clash In Paris, reports indicate that Lynch is now internally listed as a member of The Vision faction, led by Rollins.
Lynch and Punk crossed paths once again on WWE Raw, with the former citing issues with the crowd chanting “CM Punk” during her matches many years ago. According to Lynch, that let her know that the fans didn’t truly care about her or her in-ring work, and only Punk. Lynch also claimed that Punk didn’t fit the vision, hence her decision to formally link up with Rollins, her real-life husband.
After the two traded more words, Lynch slapped Punk, then shoved him. While he didn’t physically strike back, Punk did warn Lynch that she’d regret putting her hands on him. Per reports, that regret will come from Punk’s wife, AJ Lee, who is slated to make her in-ring return for a mixed tag team match at WWE Wrestlepalooza.

Riho Returns To AEW, Targets Mercedes Moné
Coming off her successful title defense at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné defended it once again, this time on AEW Dynamite.
This title match went back and forth as Moné and Alex Windsor traded submissions and hard-hitting moves. In the final moments of action, Moné locked in the Statement Maker, with Windsor trying to reach the bottom rope. Moné rolled back to the center of the ring twice to prevent that, though it didn’t stop Windsor from covering Moné for a near fall. Moné then responded with a pinfall of her own, which kept Windsor down for a three count.
Despite her win, Moné cinched in another Statement Maker on Windsor after the match. Luckily for Windsor, a surprise stomp from a returning Riho forced Moné to relinquish the hold. Before Moné could recover, Riho then knocked her out of the ring with a dropkick and posed with her TBS Championship.

AEW later confirmed that Riho would challenge Moné for the TBS Championship at All Out on September 20. The Japanese star had been out of action since July 2024, when she fractured her arm during a match against Lady Frost. In the midst of recovery, Riho also dealt with issues related to her visa, which prevented her from reentering the United States.
