WWE’s Sudden 2026 SNME Announcement Fuels Chris Jericho’s Return Rumors

Between WWE and AEW, has Chris Jericho decided where he wishes to end his career?

Chris Jericho has not been seen on All Elite Wrestling since April 2025. His final bout was at AEW Dynasty, where he dropped the ROH World Championship to Bandido in a Title vs. Mask match. His lengthy hiatus has sparked a conversation among fans that Jericho may be on his way back to World Wrestling Entertainment.

Meanwhile, WWE has announced the date for its first Saturday Night’s Main Event show in 2026. SNME 43, which comes after John Cena’s retirement special set for December 13, will be held in Winnipeg, Canada, on January 24, one week before the Royal Rumble.

The “Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla” has always taken pride in constantly reiterating that he is from Winnipeg. Throw in the curious choice of location for SNME 43, naturally, the fans feel the former WWF Undisputed Champion could be back.

WWE Fans Are Convinced Of Chris Jericho’s Return Following SNME 43 Location Announcement

The fans feel WWE would bring back Chris Jericho either on the SmackDown one night before, or at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Winnipeg.

Now, be that as it may, a rather fitting venue for his WWE return, should he choose to, would be the Royal Rumble event one week later, as the show is known to bring in surprise entrants.

Fans speculate Chris Jericho’s return following SNME 43 announcement

Since Canada is set to host the first SNME of 2026, fans also threw in names like Adam “Edge” Copeland and Sami Zayn into the mix. In the case of the Rated-R Superstar, his comeback seems very less likely compared to Chris Jericho, as he is still under contract with AEW. WWE and All Elite Wrestling have strict rules about their employees working with certain rival companies.

As for Zayn, fans wonder if WWE would want to crown the Canadian as World Champion in Winnipeg. The Underdog from the Underground has been rumored for months to be earmarked for a Royal Rumble win in 2026, as the event will happen in Saudi Arabia, another location where the 41-year-old has a strong fan following.
