WWE Star Feels John Cena’s Retirement Is A Sham And He Will Return

As WWE offers a tournament to determine John Cena’s last opponent with pomp and fanfare, a former rival of his has doubts about The Franchise Player’s future.

John Cena’s Farewell Tour has its ups and downs, to say the least, as a bizarre heel run marred what could have been a true celebration of one of the greatest wrestling careers ever.

WWE, however, got things back on track by booking several feel-good matches and moments with John Cena, and as things stand, we’re almost at the end, or are we?

Rusev Sounds Convinced John Cena Will Return To Wrestle Again In WWE

For someone whose WWE career went up a notch when he began a feud with John Cena, Rusev clearly knows a thing or two about the 17-Time World Champion.

During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, The Bulgarian Brute was asked about Cena, and, unlike many of his peers, he was skeptical of the veteran’s decision to call it a day. Rusev felt that the WWE legend would eventually find his way back, and personally wanted to see it happen as he had immense admiration for his on-screen adversary.

I don’t believe it. I’m not holding my breath. I love John [Cena], and this may be his last match of this century or whatnot, but at some point, I want to see him back, whenever that is,” he said.

Rusev’s feud with John Cena in 2015 ended with an infamous loss at WrestleMania 31, which many believe stunted all the momentum he’d gathered as a heel.

After several years away, the 39-year-old is back in WWE and has a chance to get some retribution against John Cena. Rusev is part of “The Last Time Is Now” Tournament and will take on Damian Priest in the first round on next week’s RAW.
