WWE Hall of Famer Fred Ottman Undergoes Vascular Surgery

Fred Ottman, known to wrestling fans as Typhoon and The Shockmaster, recently went under the knife as he had surgery.

Former WWE Women’s Champion Leilani Kai took to her Facebook earlier this week and revealed that Fred Ottman recently underwent vascular surgery. She asked the wrestling community for thoughts, prayers, and support.

Kai praised Ottman not just for his contributions in the ring but also for his kindness and generosity outside of it. She described him as someone with a big heart who always makes people feel cared for, highlighting how much he has given to professional wrestling over the years.

Kai also asked fans to keep both Fred and his wife Sheila in their thoughts, noting how Sheila has been by his side through everything. Kai ended her message by wishing Ottman a safe surgery and a strong recovery, assuring him that the wrestling world is pulling for him.

“Today, my dear friend and wrestling brother Fred Ottman (who fans know as Tugboat, Typhoon, and of course The Shockmaster) is undergoing vascular surgery.
Fred has given so much of himself to this business, both in the ring and outside of it. He’s always been larger than life, but what I love most is his heart. He has a way of making everyone around him feel cared for, and that’s something truly special.
I want to ask all of you to please lift Fred and his wife Sheila up in your thoughts and prayers today. Sheila has been right by his side through everything, and I know your love and support will mean the world to both of them.
💪 Wishing my friend a safe surgery and a strong recovery. We’re all pulling for you, Fred.”

Typhoon was inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 alongside his Natural Disasters tag team partner John Tenta. Nonetheless, the wrestling community is showing support for Fred Ottman as he recovers from surgery and that’s all that matters in the end.
