WorldofVolley :: ITA M: Trento Dominates Cisterna, Perugia Triumphs Over Monza

In Cisterna, the reigning champions Trento showed their class, sweeping Cisterna Volley 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-19). Even without injured star Daniele Lavia, the team looked sharp and confident. Alessandro Michieletto led the scoring with 15 points, closely followed by Theo Faure—one of two former Cisterna players in Trentoâ€s lineup—with 14 points. Young Andrea Giani, born in 2007, made his debut in the third set, contributing two points, including an ace.

Cisterna, despite the home advantage, couldnâ€t keep up with Trentoâ€s rhythm. Filippo Lanza and Tommaso Guzzo both reached 10 points but found little support against the defending champions†organized defense and effective serving.

In Brianza, Perugia opened their season with a 3-1 win over Vero Volley Monza (25-22, 16-25, 23-25, 19-25). Under coach Angelo Lorenzetti, Perugia relied on Wassim Ben Tara (19 points) and Yuki Ishikawa (18) to take control after dropping the first set. Monza, missing Rohrs, battled hard with Krisztian Padar (14) and Luka Marttila (12) leading the attack, but it wasnâ€t enough to stop the Umbrian side.
