It sounds like we could be seeing Will Ospreay back in an AEW ring way sooner than anyone initially predicted.
Prior to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in August, Will Ospreay announced heâ€d be taking time off to have neck surgery to repair some herniated discs pressing against his spinal cord. Following the Lights Out Steel Cage match at the event, Ospreay was written off television by the Death Riders, and he hasnâ€t been seen since.
The Aerial Assassin went under the knife in September and confirmed that the surgery was a success. But a timetable for his return was very much in question…until now.
Will Ospreay could be back way sooner than anyone expected
The Body Alignment Clinic is responsible for Will Ospreayâ€s rehab in the United Kingdom. The team took to their Instagram account today to post a surprising update on Will Ospreayâ€s recovery process and a potential return timetable to AEW. Stating the following:
“@aew Allstar @willospreay 6 weeks post op and doing great! Still some way to go with but weâ€re on the right road. Jan 2026 *rocket emoji* *siren emoji* Donâ€t Try This At Home! aew #willospreay #bodyalignmentclinic #teamstraightspine,†The Body Alignment Clinic said in a post.
This message would seemingly imply that Ospreay is targeting a January 2026 return to All Elite Wrestling. If that is the case, it would be an incredible recovery time from such a serious surgery.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information on Ospreayâ€s potential AEW return as it becomes available.
