Who won the Scottish Premiership transfer window?

Despite a glorious Scottish Cup triumph in May, Aberdeen’s start to the season has been plagued by the poor form that has been following them since November last year.

Nicolas Milanovic aside, Dons fans have been pretty unconvinced by the club’s summer window at this early stage of the campaign.

Goals have been a massive issue, with Jimmy Thelin’s side failing to score in each of their three straight Premiership defeats.

But with Kevin Nisbet, who scored 14 times for Aberdeen on loan last term, returning permanently from Millwall on deadline day, Thelin will hope the Scotland striker is the answer to his side’s attacking issues.

In addition to that, the late, late loan addition of Bologna winger Jesper Karlsson, who has 14 caps for Sweden and worked with Thelin at Elfsborg, will surely excite Dons fans along with Stuart Armstrong, the Scotland midfielder signing as a free agent on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Dundee United and Motherwell’s transfer windows have been influenced by shopping abroad, and both sides seem to be benefitting from some wise recruitment.

Forward duo Zac Sapsford and Ivan Dolcek in particular look like excellent additions for Jim Goodwin’s United, while Elijah Just and Lukas Fadinger have starred in Jens Berthel Askou’s free-flowing Fir Park side.
