WHL Roundup: Brown scores twice, Warriors down Wheat Kings

Casey Brown scored twice as the Moose Jaw Warriors topped the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-4 in the Western Hockey League.

Colt Carter, Ethan Semeniuk, Nolan Paquette and Pavel McKenzie also scored for Moose Jaw. Warriors netminder Matthew Hutchison kicked out 40 of 44 shots.

Chase Surkan scored twice while Jordan Gavin and Gunnar Gleasman scored once for Brandon. Wheat Kings goaltender Jayden Kraus kicked out 34 of 39 shots.

RED DEER, Alta. — Luke Powell scored twice as Edmonton Oil Kings defeated Red Deer Rebels.

Dylan Dean and Presley Kerner all scored once for Edmonton. Oil Kings netminder Ethan Simcoe stopped 16 of 18 shots.

Noah Milford and Keith McInnis all scored once for Red Deer. Rebels goaltender Peyton Shore stopped 22 of 26 shots.

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Daxon Rudolph scored a goal as the Prince Albert Raiders topped the Saskatoon Blades.

Aiden Oiring, Ty Meunier and Oli Chenier all scored once for Prince Albert. Raiders netminder Michal Orsulak kicked out 29 of 31 shots.

Zach Olsen and Dominik Petr all scored once for Saskatoon. Blades goaltender Ethan McCallum saved 25 of 28 shots.

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Andrei Molgachev scored twice as the Calgary Hitmen downed the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Shaun Hildebrandt, Kale Dach and Rylan Ng all scored once for Calgary. Hitmen goaltender Anders Miller stopped 20 of 23 shots.

Hudson Kibblewhite scored twice while Carson Olsen scored once for Lethbridge. Hurricanes netminder Koen Cleaver stopped 20 of 24 shots.

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Noah Kosick knocked in the game-winning goal at 13:41 in the third period as the Swift Current Broncos edged the Regina Pats.

Sawyer Dingman, Stepan Kuryachenkov and Zach Pantelakis all scored once for Swift Current. Broncos netminder Joey Rocha kicked out 30 of 33 shots.

Keets Fawcett, Liam Pue and Caden Brown all scored once for Regina. Pats goaltender Taylor Tabashniuk saved 25 of 29 shots.

Elsewhere in the WHL — the Spokane Chiefs beat the Kelowna Rockets 8-2, the Prince George Cougars topped the Portland Winterhawks 6-1 and the Victoria Royals blanked the Penticton Vees 5-0.
