What Is the Prize Money for Womens ODI World Cup?: With less than a month to go before the ICC Womens Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, the game’s governing body has announced a historic quadrupling of prize money.

What Is the Prize Money for Womens ODI World Cup 2025?

The total pool for the 2025 edition will stand at $13.88 million, a near-300 percent increase on the $3.5 million distributed at the last tournament in New Zealand in 2022. For context, the sum surpasses the $10 million available at the men’s World Cup staged in India only two years ago.

The winners will bag  $4.48 million in 2025, while it was just $1.32 million last time. The runners-up will receive $2.24 million, with losing semi-finalists earning $1.12 million apiece. Group-stage participants are guaranteed $250,000, with a further $34,314 awarded for each win. The sides ending the group stage in fifth and sixth place will collect $700,000 each, with seventh and eighth receiving $280,000 apiece.

ICC chairman Jay Shah hailed the move as a “watershed moment,” saying it reflects the board’s clear resolve to bring women’s cricket onto the same financial footing as the men’s game. “Our message is simple,” Shah said. “Women cricketers must know they will be treated on par with men if they choose this sport professionally.”

The hike builds on last year’s commitment to pay parity at the Women’s T20 World Cup, and comes at a time of rapid expansion for the women’s game in terms of reach, broadcast, and commercial value.

For players and fans alike, the 2025 World Cup promises not just a showcase of cricket, but a measure of how far the women’s game has travelled—and how much further it intends to go.
