NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Augsburg University volleyball team dropped its second straight five-set decision, falling at Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season champion St. Olaf College on Saturday afternoon.

FINAL SCORE: St. Olaf def. Augsburg 3-2 (32-30, 22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 15-10)

RECORDS: Augsburg 9-18 overall (4-6 MIAC), St. Olaf 22-6 overall (10-0 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• In a match that lasted 2:14 and featured 34 tie scores and 16 lead changes, Augsburg rallied twice to tie the match with the Oles, but St. Olaf claimed the fifth set by a 15-10 count.
• Marley Mitchell (SO, Nevis, Minn./Nevis HS) led the Auggies with 16 kills, adding two block assists and three digs. The match was her fourth double-figure kill performance in her last five matches.
• Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) reached the 40 mark in assists for the eighth time this season, claiming her 13th assist-dig of the year and 19th of her Auggie career with a 44-assist, 16-dig, four block assist, three kill performance.
• Taylor Hoehns (SR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS) had 13 kills on .241 hitting, adding three block assists.
• Taliah Triggs (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) had 12 kills with nine digs.
• Elizabeth Oster (JR, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had seven kills with seven block assists.
• Libero Maggie Lile (JR, Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove HS) tied a career high with 27 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Evelyn Kreft had 16 kills with two blocks (one solo) to lead St. Olaf, while Mehsa Kruse had 13 kills and 20 digs.
• Paige Christopherson had 35 assists with 13 digs.

• Augsburg hosts the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in a nonconference match on Wednesday (11/7) at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
