As he prepares for his final WWE match, John Cena has been on a promotional spree and recently stopped by Joe Rogan’s podcast.
While he touched upon several topics, Vince McMahon was also discussed, and the Cenation Leader believed the former WWE boss would be a great guest on the Joe Rogan Experience. Tony Hinchcliffe floated the idea to get Mr. McMahon on the show, and John Cena was convinced the ex-WWE head booker would cherish the opportunity.
“Man! He would be great! Whatever magic you have out there, and you have a lot of gravity. Are you kidding me? I think he would love it. I don’t know when the right time is, but man, don’t miss out on that opportunity. At least send it out to the universe. Vince, if you’re listening, I think this experience would be a great one for you.”
The former world champion, however, realized the complexities surrounding Vince McMahon following all the allegations, which effectively led to his WWE ouster.
John Cena would not be the superstar he is today without Vince McMahon, and while he respects the controversial figure, he couldn’t ignore the events that have brought the 80-year-old’s name into disrepute.
Cena still believes in forgiveness, but during the conversation with Joe Rogan, he sounded apprehensive about truly opening up about VKM.
“He’s out (of WWE). Yep (totally)! I don’t know, we were talking about why your last event in this place, because, man, I don’t choose the event. All that stuff is so far above me, but I know now, he is out. In my eyes, I’d like to think that time heals everything, and I believe in forgiveness. I also believe in looking at the body of work, but I also know there is a lot of fragile stuff going on there. I don’t know, man, I don’t know.”
John Cena’s Feelings About Vince McMahon Don’t Mean The Former WWE President Shouldn’t Be Held Accountable For His Deeds
In addition to facing accusations of sexual trafficking and misconduct, Vince McMahon has also been involved in multiple legal troubles during the course of his career.
John Cena opined that, irrespective of a personality’s influential work, they should always be accountable for actions that have serious consequences, and the same goes for Vince McMahon.
McMahon’s role in shaping pro wrestling into what it has become is undeniable, but that doesn’t give him the liberty to do whatever he wants within and outside the business.
John Cena, though, reiterated that McMahon would be open to having a similar exchange with Joe Rogan:
“Just because I feel a certain way about a person doesn’t exonerate them from being accountable for their actions. And just because he did start ‘all this gangster sh** (WWE),’ that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need to be accountable for his actions. So, let’s figure out what that means and then figure out if we can move forward and bring that back into the fold, or if it stays the way it is. I think he would come here (on JRE).”
As Cena nears his final match against Gunther, all eyes are on whether Vince McMahon will attend the show on December 13th, and even if he secretly does, would WWE acknowledge his presence? We will get our answers soon.
