Prestige Wrestling announces indefinite hiatus

Prestige Wrestling, a top independent wrestling promotion based in the Pacific Northwest, is going away for at least the foreseeable future.

In an announcement made by promoter William Quintana on Tuesday, it was revealed that Prestige Wrestling will be taking a break after its next four shows are completed. The promotion was founded in 2017 and has featured the top talent in the Pacific Northwest as well as bringing in stars from outside the region.

“This post will come as a surprise to most & I am so sorry that I have to do this,” Quintana wrote. “The last year has been the absolute most difficult of my life on a personal & a professional level. I have been going non-stop since I was 16 years old when I dropped out of school to start touring, booking bands, starting businesses, etc.

“I fear I am losing ‘the feeling’ & I need to take a break to discover my passion again. I’ve always put 100% into Prestige Wrestling with the goal of making memories for our fans, wrestlers & staff that will last a lifetime & I hope we’ve accomplished that. My greatest fear has always been to die & be completely forgotten about. Hopefully the last 8 years will be enough to leave that legacy behind.
October 5th in Portland, November 7th in Los Angeles & 2 unannounced dates will be the final 4 scheduled Prestige shows for the foreseeable future.”

Quintana added that he’s unsure if this is the end of Prestige Wrestling or if the promotion will return in the future. He urged fans to support other indie organizations like West Coast Pro and Deadlock Pro Wrestling.

“Life has twists & turns – This may be a ‘see you later’ type [scenario], it may be a ‘goodbye’ type [scenario]. Either way, we’re gonna rock these final 4 shows,” Quintana wrote.

“In the meantime please support West Coast Pro, Deadlock Pro Wrestling, DOA Pro Wrestling, New Texas Pro Wrestling, Nation Extreme Wrestling & all of your favorite indies. I am so sorry. Thank you & I love you all so much for all of the joy you’ve brought me over the last 8 years, don’t forget that.”

The October 5 Prestige show is taking place in Portland, Oregon and will include Shayna Baszler, Masha Slamovich, Danhausen, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, Prestige Champion Judas Icarus, and more.
