Teddy Long Back With Partner From 40 Years Ago And Hints At Marriage

Teddy Long earned his spot as a wrestling legend long before joining WWE in 1998. The famed SmackDown General Manager has been in the industry for more than 40 years, but today he tries to relax more than work. Long now has a much more exciting reason to look forward to the future.

The Godfather of Professional Wrestling almost married Kristal Marshall in the WWE storylines back in 2007, but he was married to wife Tasha for 40 years until she tragically passed away in September 2022. Teddy and Tasha had two children together: daughter LeTicia, and son Antione, who suddenly passed away at the age of 46 on July 4.

Long has a new love interest. While discussing weekend plans with Bill Apter and Mac Davis on WrestleBinge, Teddy revealed how he’s headed to South Carolina to spend time with a woman named Denise. The 78-year-old is looking forward to some good BBQ, and The Palmetto State’s State Fair.

“I’m headed to see Denise this weekend. She has some stuff waiting on me, some nice ribs. She’s got… [Davis: I was about to say you’ve got BBQ waiting on you!] Oh, and these ribs here were so good. They just fell off the bone, man. I swear I never had nothing like that, this was outstanding. So, I’m going to have a great weekend. Denise and I are going to… she’s already got good food and stuff, so we’re going to do some sight-seeing. I think they got the State Fair here in South Carolina somewhere, so we may even end up going to the fair,” Teddy Long said.

Davis predicted to Apter that we will hear wedding bells coming from Long’s direction within one year. Apter agreed that it is possible, and Teddy was beaming as he acknowledged the chances. Davis then commented on how he knows Long well, and believes the former SmackDown General Manager must really like Denise because he doesn’t talk about people unless he’s fond of them.

Teddy Long On Reconnecting With Denise

Teddy Long is clearly a happy man these days. In discussing his relationship with Denise on WrestleBinge with co-hosts Mac Davis and Bill Apter, the 2017 WWE Hall of Famer noted how he and Denise first met 40 years ago.

“Denise and I are God-meant to be because I met Denise 40 years ago, then we separated, and… but she would always stay in touch with me, but we finally got back together after 40-some years, and we didn’t do it wrong. We didn’t cheat or nothing, she was married, I was married, my wife died, so happened her husband died. So, that’s how it all happened,” Teddy Long said.

Davis revealed how Denise is one of the sweetest ladies he’s talked with after getting a few chances to talk with Teddy’s lady on the phone. Mac described her as a sweet Southern lady. Apter suggested he and Davis “strut” Teddy down the aisle at the wedding, if it happens.
