Taya Valkyrie Details The Biggest Difference Between WWE And AEW

Taya Valkyrie has worked for WWE and AEW, giving her first-hand experience of how the two companies operate.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Taya Valkyrie was a recent guest on Womenâ€s Wrestling Talk. When asked about the differences between WWE and AEW, Valkyrie said she believes AEW is grittier and that Tony Khan isnâ€t afraid to take risks and disrupt the industry.

“Hereâ€s the thing: AEW to me is the disruptor,†Taya Valkyrie said. “They came in and shook the cage a little bit, making people see pro wrestling from a different perspective. They brought in talent who were thriving internationally, in the Indies, and from around the world. Weâ€re grittier, weâ€re not afraid to take risks, and Tony (Khan) isnâ€t afraid to disrupt. That makes wrestling fun and keeps it interesting.†[H/T: Fightful]

For those who donâ€t remember Valkyrieâ€s WWE run, she worked under the name Franky Monet in NXT back in 2021.

Taya Valkyrie has split her focus between companies in 2025. She has frequently performed for both Ring of Honor and CMLL. She has only competed on AEW programming three times this year. Her latest match saw her lose to Alex Windsor back in July on AEW Collision.

Luckily for Valkyrie, Tony Khan and All Elite Wrestling announced the AEW Womenâ€s World Tag Team Titles last week on Dynamite. While they havenâ€t teamed together since December, it would be the perfect time for Valkyrie to reunite with Deonna Purrazzo as The Vendetta.
