Stephanie McMahon reflected on John Cenaâ€s legacy and highlighted one of the most impressive accomplishments of his career.
Ahead of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, Stephanie McMahon spoke with Megan Morant about John Cena. She was asked why Cena connects with people everywhere he goes. Stephanie said the answer is simple: itâ€s because John Cena has a huge heart. McMahon highlighted Cenaâ€s record-breaking work with Make-A-Wish, noting how heâ€s the number one wish-granter for Make-A-Wish, and he did it because he cares.
She said Cena would meet with any child, any day, simply because it mattered to him. McMahon explained that Cena always wants to be better and immediately agreed when WWE offered the chance to learn new languages. She noted that Cena learned Mandarin, which is a very difficult language to learn.â€
She said one of the most impressive things Cena ever did came during WWEâ€s expansion into China.
“John did a big press conference for WWE, and he spoke in Mandarin at that conference when we were making our moves in China, which was hugely impressive. And I think one of the most impressive things that he has done is to go all the way to China and shoot a movie in Mandarin not just speaking Mandarin, but taking direction from the producer, from the director.â€
While talking about his movie with legendary actor, Jackie Chan, Hidden Strike, she added, “Iâ€m not sure if Jackie Chan was speaking Mandarin to John, but I believe he was.†McMahon called this achievement “mind-blowing,†especially because Cena did it so far from anything he was familiar with.
She emphasized that his work ethic “hustle, loyalty, and respect†is very real. She said that his constant push to grow is what makes him stand out. Finally, Stephanie said, “You couldnâ€t do all of the things that heâ€s done without having love in your heart.â€
