A star who recently left WWE addressed her situation surrounding her exit from the company.
On the September 23 episode of WWE NXT, Jazmyn Nyx was taken out by an unknown attacker in a backstage segment. While her Fatal Influence stablemates initially acted shocked, Jacy Jayne declared that she had planned to drop Nyx from the faction anyway.
Initially, fans thought this was a part of a storyline, but were taken aback when it was reported that the segment was a way to write Jazmyn Nyx off, as he had chosen not to extend her WWE contract.
With speculations flying around, Nyx addressed the situation herself.
Taking to her Instagram, Nyx shared that it was a personal decision as the money the Stamford-based promotion was offering her did not make sense from a financial standpoint.
She also gave the backstory of how she was recruited while she was playing soccer in Iceland. However, her in-ring career took a while to get going, as she needed to take time off for multiple knee surgeries. In addition to this, she said that she had broken her nose, which led to her appearing on TV with a mask, and concussions, for which she needed time off on several occasions.
She continued that she had to give up several opportunities when she signed with WWE, and now that she was no longer with the company, she had plans to explore them. She concluded by thanking her fans and stated she had an amazing journey and that she was grateful for the opportunity:
As you know, there’s been things circulating, and I want to set the record straight: I am not resigning with WWE. This was a personal decision I had to make for myself and for my future. The contract they were offering me for the next three years just wasn’t going to cut it for me financially, and that’s okay.
I want to give a little backstory. I was playing professional soccer in Iceland, and then I got recruited to WWE. I left everything out there to come here for this opportunity, which I am very grateful for. I was held back a little in the beginning. I had four knee surgeries, so I had to recover and rebuild my knees in order to step in the ring. As some of you know, I broke my nose, which is why I was wearing the mask. I also had other injuries, including concussions, that kept me off TV for a while.
I will say that there have been a lot of opportunities I had to turn down and pass up, but now that I am out of the job, I can explore these opportunities more and take them seriously. I love my Jazmyn Nyx fans. Thank you so much for supporting me and having my back for the past three years.
It’s been an amazing journey, and I will miss you guys. That is it for Jazmyn Nyx. Thank you for watching, and I love you all so much.”
