Shotzi Blackheart Is Still Shocked WWE Let Her Wrestle In Her Wedding Dress

Shotzi Blackheart had a wrestling wedding, one that didn’t end with an unhappily ever after for the couple.

In December 2023, Shotzi revealed that she and her boyfriend, Jesus Alfaro, got married in Las Vegas ahead of a WWE live event in town. Shotzi arrived at the event in her wedding dress, and ultimately competed in a match on the show. Shotzi and Bianca Belair defeated Damage CTRL’s Bayley and IYO SKY before celebrating the night with her new husband.

During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Shotzi was asked about the craziest matches she’s competed in. She pointed out that working with glass in a death match was pretty crazy, noting how she got cut up during the bout.

“I want to say War Games. But, leaving WWE out of it, I just did a death match a couple of weeks ago. That’s probably the craziest. I have never done glass before that. And glass is no joke. It is pretty scary. It cut me up pretty bad, actually. Yeah, so death match wrestling is no joke.”

Shotzi is grateful for the ‘kooky’ opportunity

WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard noted that her “wrestling wedding” could be seen as crazy in a different respect. Blackheart said she’s still surprised WWE let it happen in the first place.

“That [wrestling in a wedding dress] is honestly something that I am still to this day so surprised that WWE let me do. But Road Dogg is so awesome. He is so down for the kooky stuff. So, I knew right away, knowing Road Dogg was running the live events, that asking him, he was going to let me do it. Because he is just so down for the fun stuff. And yeah, I texted him about wrestling in my wedding dress. He was like, immediately, ‘Yes, we’ll make it work.’  So, yeah. I’m so grateful. Thank you, Road Dogg. You are the coolest.”

Pritchard noted that this was one of the few wrestling-related weddings that didn’t see the couple covered in cake.

“I kind of wish we were covered in cake though,” Shotzi added. “Some cake debauchery would’ve been awesome.”
