Shinsuke Nakamura Set To Battle The Vision With Top WWE Stars

Shinsuke Nakamura is finally headed back to in-ring action for WWE. The Vision has ran wild over RAW and SmackDown for months, but this is the first time they’ve had to deal with Nakamura and his babyface allies.

The King of Strong Style has not wrestled since June 13, when he competed on SmackDown in the King of the Ring opening round Fatal 4 Way with Andrade, Damian Priest, and eventual tournament winner Cody Rhodes. Nakamura’s future has been the subject of rumors and speculation for months, and now we know he’s headed back to the ring.

The Vision has battled top WWE Superstars on RAW and SmackDown as of late, but they are set to battle Nakamura for the first time at the upcoming non-televised live events from Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan. All three members of The Vision have been announced, but it remains to be seen if Paul Heyman will be there for WWE’s return to The Land of The Rising Sun.

Shinsuke Nakamura Set For WWE Tokyo Matches

WWE has announced three matches for the Friday, October 17 event from Sumo Hall in Tokyo: CM Punk vs. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley vs. IYO SKY vs. Women’s United States Champion Giulia, Shinsuke Nakamura and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

A big trios match will headline the October 18 event, also at Sumo Hall. Nakamura is scheduled to team with Punk and Uso to battle Rollins, Breakker, and Reed. The Saturday show will also feature Ripley and SKY vs. Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, plus Women’s United States Champion Giulia vs. Kairi Sane with Asuka at ringside.

Nakamura appears to be winding his in-ring career down now that he’s inside his 23rd year as a pro wrestler. The 45-year-old has wrestled just 15 matches so far in 2025, down from 56 in 2024, 67 in 2023, and 73 in 2022. The count for 2025 so far is the lowest for any year in Shinsuke’s career.
