Sami Zayn Wins United States Championship On WWE SmackDown

Sami Zayn is a champion once again.

During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Zayn defeated Solo Sikoa in the main event to capture the WWE United States Championship. The title match was every bit as chaotic as a match featuring Zayn and Sikoa could be, too.

Toward the end of the match, the MFTs (Talla Tonga, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa) all got involved, but so did Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso. In the end, Zayn hit Sikoa with a Helluva Kick, and captured the title.

The win marks Zayn’s first reign as WWE United States Champion, and his fourth overall title reign with WWE. Previously, Zayn has held the WWE Intercontinental Championships and both the WWE RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

His feud with Sikoa seems far from over, though, as it’s likely Solo will want his belt back. For now though, Zayn can celebrate with a brand new belt to add to his resume.
