Ryan Williams, Kalen DeBoer, Ty Simpson Praised by CFB Fans as Alabama Routs Wisconsin

The Alabama Crimson Tide earned an impressive home win over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, defeating them 38-14 behind standout performances from quarterback Ty Simpson and wide receiver Ryan Williams.

Improving to 2-1 on the season, Simpson completed 24-of-29 passes for 382 yards and four touchdowns. Williams hauled in five receptions for 165 yards and two scores. Germie Bernard contributed both a rushing and receiving touchdown, while Isaiah Horton added another score.

Fans praised head coach Kalen DeBoer and the team for a dominant showing that handed Wisconsin a decisive loss.

Alabama struck first, capping an 11-play drive late in the first quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run by Bernard to take a 7-0 lead. The Crimson Tide kept the Badgers off the scoreboard in the second quarter and added two more touchdowns—first on a 43-yard pass from Simpson to Bernard, then on a 13-yard connection to Horton—giving Alabama a 21-0 lead at halftime.

The momentum carried into the second half, as Simpson hit Williams for a 75-yard touchdown on the opening drive to extend the lead to 28-0. However, a mental mistake on the ensuing kickoff—a short kick set up by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty—allowed Wisconsin’s Cinny Anthony II to return it 95 yards for a touchdown.

Alabama quickly answered with another touchdown, a 41-yard strike to Williams, and followed it with a defensive highlight: an interception by Bray Hubbard. The Tide opened the fourth quarter with a field goal to push the lead to 38-7, before the offense slowed down.

Wisconsin added a late touchdown to cut the deficit to 38-14, but Alabama’s early dominance had already put the game out of reach.

Alabama heads into a bye week before facing a tough Georgia Bulldogs team on the road on Sept. 27.
