Pace bowler Rory Haydon has signed a three-year contract with Derbyshire after impressing in the One-Day Cup.
The 22-year-old took six wickets in five appearances, including figures of 3-59 against Worcestershire, and now has a deal to the end of the 2028 season
Haydon will now be available for the final three County Championship games of the current season, starting away to Middlesex at Lord’s on Monday.
“He has shown no fear when going up against experienced batting line-ups and he is a welcome addition to our red ball attack,” said head of cricket Mickey Arthur.
“It’s Rory’s potential which excites us most. We have seen off interest from other counties to secure his future and we look forward to seeing him go from strength to strength.”
