Ripley, Vaquer & More Original NXT Superstars return

WWE NXT Homecoming was a special episode of NXT, which took place at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, on September 17, 2025. The following episode of NXT included many returns and many surprises. It was already announced that Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, and Stephanie Vaquer will face Fatal Influence, but due to an injury suffered on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton was replaced by Lyra Valkyria. 

Before the show even started, WWE had already announced the returns of many NXT original superstars, such as Bobby Roode, William Regal, Bianca Belair, and the United States Champion Sami Zayn. A special edition of the Grayson Waller effect was also on the show, which included Ricky Saints and Oba Femi. 

WWE NXT Homecoming Highlights: Triple H and Shawn Michaels start the show

Triple H started the WWE NXT Homecoming show by praising WWE NXT fans for supporting NXT all these years. After that, Shawn Michaels came out. Michaels thanked Triple H for successfully closing the main roster’s billion-dollar deals. During the same segment, William Regal also came out to shout his famous catchphrase, “War Games.”

The Culling Vs Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair defended their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Tataum Paxley and Izzy Dame. The match went on for 15+ minutes, and during the match, we saw a very exciting face-off between Alexa Bliss’s and Tataum Paxley’s twisted characters. At the end of the match, Bliss delivered a Sister Abigail to Paxley and secured the victory via pinfall.

Trick-Melo Gang vs DIY

Trick WIlliams and Carmelo Hayes faced off against Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano. The match went on for 20+ minutes and received chants like “This is Awesome” and “Fight Forever” from the NXT audience. With the help of The Miz, Williams and Hayes defeated DIY via pinfall.

Ethan Page Vs Tyler Breeze and the Grayson Waller Effect

Last week on NXT, Tyler Breeze challenged Ethan Page for the North American Championship. Page defeated Breeze and successfully retained his title. After this match, we saw the special edition of the Grayson Waller Effect, with special guests Ricky Saints and Oba Femi. As Ricky Saints was stating that he is going to beat Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at No Mercy, he was interrupted by Trick Williams. During that segment, it was confirmed that next week on NXT, Trick Williams and Oba Femi will face each other for a title-for-title match.

Last week on SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton suffered an injury during her match against Jade Cargil, as a result of which she was replaced in the NXT Homecoming main event match by Lyra Valkyria. The main event match went on for 15+ minutes. At the end of the match, Ripley delivered her signature move to Jacy Jayne and secured the victory for her team via pinfall.
