Jade Cargill shocked the world by winning the WWE Women’s Championship on tonight’s edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, many fans were confused at the result, and the real reason why the title switch took place has now been revealed.
Why Jade Cargill Secured A Dominant Victory At WWE SNME
One of the more surprising aspects of Jade Cargill winning was how she did it. While her heel turn had caught fans unaware, her dominant performance tonight absolutely surprised them, and the reason for this was revealed by Sportskeeda’s Anirban Banerjee.

In their exclusive report, they shared that sources within World Wrestling Entertainment had revealed to them that the company wanted to push The Storm like a powerful heel, with them stating that the ending of the bout was designed to be a dominant victory akin to Brock Lesnar destroying John at SummerSlam 2014.
Elsewhere in their report, their sources also confirmed the rumor that Cargill would be taking time off despite just winning the Women’s Championship, as she had a prior commitment. The source indicated that it was not confirmed if this was happening, and in case Cargill took time off, they had a plan to shift the focus to the Women’s United States Championship.
Both scenarios are interesting propositions for fans. Given that Cargill just turned heel, and her overall persona, being a dominant champion, would definitely not be out of character for her. Considering that Guilia has not had too many defenses of her title, the shifting of focus could shine the spotlight on her and show why the Stamford-based promotion decided to make her a champion.
In either case, overall, the entire situation makes for a great scenario for the SmackDown women’s roster, who have been consistently performing well over the last few events. What scenario eventually plays out remains to be seen.
