It seems like Randy Orton will be back on WWE programming sooner rather than later.
Itâ€s been a weird couple of months for The Viper on WWE programming. It kicked off at SummerSlam when he and Jelly Roll lost a tag match to Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. A match the duo was set to win before Jelly Roll requested to lose the match.
His next match was just over a month later, when Orton lost to Drew McIntyre on the September 12 episode of SmackDown. He would disappear after this loss until the October 3 episode of SmackDown. When he and Cody Rhodes lost a tag match to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed of The Vision. The Viper was attacked by Seth Rollins and the rest of The Vision following the match, and he hasnâ€t been seen since. However, it seems like thatâ€s about to change.
WWE is now advertising Randy Orton for the December 5 episode of SmackDown in Austin, Texas. This would be the first episode of SmackDown following this yearâ€s Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event.
On the latest What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, Cody Rhodes told a story about the advice Randy Orton gave him while he was just starting out in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
“I remember Randy came down to OVW, and he told everybody there he was doing a match at Six Flags,†Cody Rhodes recalled. “He didnâ€t have much to say, but they gathered us up for his speech.
“He just said, ‘Make sure youâ€re having fun. Because the moment you go on the road, itâ€s still fun, but itâ€s a very different type of fun and itâ€s a business. This group, youâ€ll never forget who you trained with, that funny moment when you were watching PLEs or pay-per-views on your couch, thinking about when that would be me. Or when your friend got called up and you got to see it firsthand and knew how real it was.†Yeah, that time period is so much fun.â€
