Raiders' Brock Bowers Reportedly 'Trending Toward Not Playing' vs. Colts amid Injury
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers reportedly is considered week-to-week after being ruled out against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday due to a knee injury, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bowers was initially listed as questionable on the Raiders’ injury report, but didn’t participate in practice on Thursday or Friday after he was a limited participant in Wednesday’s session.
The 22-year-old suffered the injury during Las Vegas’ season-opening 20-13 win over the New England Patriots and has been managing it ever since, wearing a brace and a sleeve on his knee.
He admitted that he’s been hampered by the pain.
“It’s painful, sore, just annoying [and] frustrating because I want to be back to full strength and going full speed, being able to separate from guys,” Bowers said, per ESPN’s Ryan McFadden. “I feel like I can’t really do that to the best of my abilities right now.”
After hauling in five receptions for 103 yards before his Week 1 exit, Bowers has caught 14 passes for just 122 yards across three games since.
While his overall production is still impressive, it represents a step down compared to his stellar rookie year in 2024. Bowers immediately established himself as one of the top players at his position, racking up 1,194 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 17 games.
His 112 catches last season also represented a new rookie record.
Las Vegas will likely rely on multiple contributors including Ian Thomas, Albert Okwuegbunam and Carter Runyon until Bowers returns.
