Punk and Lee face off against Rollins and Lynch: On September 16, WWE Raw took place at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This episode of Monday Night Raw was fully packed with action. We saw John Cena return, and we also saw CM Punk and AJ Lee continuing their feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. We also saw a contract signing segment between Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer. 

During this episode of Monday Night Raw, several storylines progressed towards the upcoming Premium Live Event WrestlePalooza. This premium live event is one of the biggest events in the company’s history, as it will mark the first-ever event that will be streamed live on ESPN. WWE recently signed a huge $1.6 billion deal with ESPN, which will allow all the major WWE Events to stream on ESPN.

WWE Raw Highlights: John Cena Returns

During this episode of Monday Night Raw, John Cena returned to the city of Springfield, Massachusetts, one last time. Cena, during his promo, stated that he played football at Springfield College, and thanked them, saying “You guys made me WWE ready”. 

John Cena then addressed his upcoming match against “The Beast”, Brock Lesnar. He stated that Lesnar is one of his greatest and brutal rivals. Cena further stated that he has never backed down from a challenge and doesn’t plan to; he ended the segment by quoting his famous catchphrase, “Brock Lesnar, if you want some, come get some.”

WWE Raw Highlights: Bayley Returns

After losing to Raquel Rodriguez last week, Lyrka Valkyria faced her tag team partner, Roxanne Perez. The match went on for 15+ minutes, and Valkyria defeated Perez via pinfall. After the match, Rodriguez and Perez attacked Valkyria, and then we saw the return of Bayley. She attacked both Perez and Rodriguez and made them leave the ring. 

WWE Raw Highlights: Stephanie Vaquer Vs Kairi Sane

During a backstage segment, we saw Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky sign the contract for their upcoming match for the WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Championship at WrestlePalooza. During the segment, it was announced that Vaquer will face Iyo Sky’s partner, Kairi Sane, in a match tonight. Stephanie Vaquer easily defeated Sane, and after the match, both Vaquer and Iyo Sky shook hands.

WWE Raw Highlights: Penta Vs Kofi Kingston

Penta has been feuding with the New Day for a while. During this episode of Monday Night Raw, he faced Kofi Kingston in a one-on-one match. During the final moments of the match, Penta delivered a springboard Mexican driver to Kingston and secured the victory via pinfall.

It was already advertised that CM Punk and AJ Lee would face off against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. During the segment, Lynch stated that AJ Lee is not healthy and she cannot match her in-ring abilities. To which Lee replied that neither Rollins nor Lynch can predict what she is capable of when she gets in the ring. Seth Rollins then said that CM Punk has a habit of leaving things when they let him down, and hopes he doesn’t leave his wife when Rollins and Lynch defeat them. After hearing this, Lee slapped Rollins, and after that, Lynch attacked her by delivering her signature move, Man-Handle slam. Now, both these couples will face each other in a mixed tag team match at WrestlePalooza.

In a 15+ minute match, El Grande Americano defeated Dragon with the help of two unknown masked lucluchadors.

WWE Raw Highlights: LA Knight and Jimmy Uso Vs The Vision

In the main event, Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker defeated LA Knight and Jimmy Uso. After the match, Reed and Breakker attacked Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso came out to the ring to save his brother. Jey Uso attacked both Reed and Breakker and made them leave the ring. After that, LA Knight attacked Jey Uso, as payback for him attacking Knight on last week’s Raw.
